Owner/Pediatric DentistDr. Marissa M. Carvalho is passionate about creating positive dental experiences for children and empowering families for a lifetime of healthy smiles. Born and raised in Torrance, CA, Dr. Marissa attended Seaside Elementary, Calle Mayor Middle School, and South High School before earning her Bachelor of Science degree from UC Irvine. She continued her studies at the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry, then completed a Pediatric Dentistry Certificate at NYU Langone in Maryland. Awarded the AAPD Predoctoral Merit Award, Dr. Marissa is known for her friendly, compassionate approach and dedication to helping children feel safe, valued, and at ease while having fun at the dentist. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband Morgan, their children Layla and Walker, and their Great Pyrenees, Kena. Dr. Marissa loves saltwater aquariums, playing tennis, watching the Dodgers, and traveling. Her mission at Coconut Smiles Pediatric Dentistry is to provide exceptional dental care in a warm, welcoming, and fun environment that feels like a day at the beach.
